Mermay 2023 - 4th Week and last three days
Day 22 - Zodiac
Well, with a prompt like this one, it was a little too easy to go with the Aquarius for Mermay. But... the thing is I have a certain attachement for this astrological sign in particular.
Day 23 - Tradition
And here is "Mahu", the dumbo octopus merfolk from day 21, once more ! I had vaguely alluded to it, but "Mahu" won't be their name, even if this is what I had planned initially. I'll explain why.
You've probably noticed that all of the merfolks I made for Out of the Abyss are strongly inspired by polynesian cultures, the most obvious ones being Hawaiian and Maori. And "Mahu" is in itself a concept of the Hawaiian culture : a third gender of which the name translates litteraly to "in the middle". Mahu people had an important role in Hawaiian society. They taught spiritual and social traditions, which included, among other things, teaching the hula.
And so, for me to have the idea of naming them "Mahu" to begin with, you've probably figured out that it's because this is what they are, traditionally speaking. But as I thought about it, I realised naming them by what they are would be like naming a cat, well, "Cat". It's a bit dumb.
Basically, I want to give them a new name. I'll certainly keep a two syllables name to at least keep things simple.
Hmm... In fact, maybe I could find them a name that has something to do with traditions ?
Day 24 - Zaddy
I made this character on the spot as I wasn't really inspired by the prompt. But I think I managed well with it nonetheless.
Day 25 - Food
No matter his form, Humphrey will always be a big glutton. (Even if, thankfully, he doesn't have the same voracity as when he used to be an actual whale.)
Day 26 - Jewel
"Shiny... For me... ?"
Day 27 - Halle Bailey
Ok, I'm not gonna speak on the matter of the Disney remakes as I believe everybody knows and that everybody roughly agrees about it.
No, here, the subject is Miss Bailey. I think no one can deny it, her voice is magnificent. And no matter the state of the movie, if she took pleasure in playing Ariel's role, then I am gald for her. And I also wish her a good continuation in her career.
Day 28 - Sailor
Alright, I might be cheating a bit with this prompt here. But the idea had been floating in my head for a while now and I finally had an excuse to put it on paper.
I don't know if I was the only one to have this idea, but I saw no one imagine the Captain Caviar ending up with a merman form as a result from being cursed by Black Pearl.
And yet, I saw many people draw him as a merman, so I'm surprised I haven't already seen this idea roam around...
Day 29 - Barbie
I loved the Barbie movies when I was a kid, especially the Fairytopia series. Here, I drew Elina, main character of this movie series, who takes on a mermaid form for a good part of the movie "Mermaidia".
Day 30 - Blue
I had mentionned this on day 21, but I'll have to reiterate it for this prompt. Leviathan is a blue whale merman.
It's in fact for this same reason he's the tallest amongst his peers : blue whales are the biggest mammals known in the world. Even Humphrey, a little humpback whale merman in comparison, is no match.
Well, perhaps that under his original form, Humphrey could have surpassed Leviathan.
Day 31 - Good night
I never would have guessed that I needed to see Dino-sour be a father figure to a half dinosaur baby cookie in my life.
Yes, the previous sentence makes no sense out of context.
I no longer play Ovenbreak ever since... well, ever since even before what happened with Yogurca (the less we talk about it, the better), but I'm still trying to follow the stories on YouTube. And honestly, I think that Pond Dino is the best thing to have happened to the "Rise of the Blue Dragon" update. I get how their design bothers some (it's rather overloaded, let's admit it), but... Just...
Baby... <3
Baby that sleeps like an otter. <3

MerMay 2022 Day Seven Quiet Moments
“Hey, uh, I wanted to ask you something.”
Jackie turned to look at Jack, swimming beside him. They weren’t neck-and-neck, since Jackie was a naturally faster swimmer, but he made sure to slow down so they could swim together. “Yeah? What is it?”
“Are you, uh...” Jack hesitated. Sam poked her head out of his bag where she was spending the journey. “Are you...alright?”
“Huh?” Jackie stopped. “What do you mean by that?”
“I don’t know, you just—you don’t seem as lively as you usually are,” Jack admitted. “I think you’re a little bit paler, too.”
“That’s probably just the new shirt,” Jackie said, pulling up the attached hood. “Red might make me look washed out.”
Jack shook his head. “No, it’s not that. Also, you didn’t answer the question. Are you doing okay?”
Jackie hesitated. “Yeah, of course,” he said, trying to sound casual. “I’ve just been busy recently. I’ve been looking everywhere for Anti, y’know. And it’s a big ocean, so you can imagine how much ground I have to cover. Haven’t seen sign of him, in case you’re wondering.”
This did not assure Jack at all. He hummed a little, then reached into his bag. “Excuse me, Sam,” he said as he took out a roll of preserved kelp. His map. Jackie waited silently as Jack unrolled it and stared at it for a while. “Oh, we’re close!” Jack grinned. “Alright. We’re going this way, now.” And he turned sharply to the left and swam away.
“What?” Jackie, confused, hurried to catch up. “What do you mean? I thought you wanted to see the city I found—”
“We can do that some other day,” Jack dismissed. “Come on.”
“But where are we going now?!” Jackie asked.
Jack smiled. “It’s a surprise.”
“I—okay, then.” Jackie wasn’t sure what this was all about, but he followed Jack anyway.
The two of them had been going deeper into the ocean, but now the ground beneath them was slowly slanting upwards. More sunlight filtered through the water, creating a pattern of rippling light and shadow on the sandy ocean floor. They swam for a while, and Jackie asked multiple times where they were going, but Jack always refused to answer. Until, finally, “Here it is!” he said.
There was a crater in the ocean floor, nearly perfectly circular with a diameter three times as big as Jackie was from head to tail. This crater was entirely filled with colorful plants and all sort of coral. Jackie stopped for a moment, in awe at all the colors smack dab in the middle of an empty ocean floor. Red and orange sea fans, white and yellow sea whip, giant green anemones, purple coral. It was beautiful, but also very strange. The miniature reef was oddly devoid of fish.
“C’mon.” Jack grabbed Jackie’s hand and pulled him closer. Smack dab in the middle of this crater was a bed of blue-green seaweed. He guided Jackie over to it, pushing him a little so he would lay down.
“Uh...alright. I’m here now, I guess.” Jackie looked around. “What...is this?”
“Okay. So.” Jack laid down on the seaweed bed next to Jackie, looking up at the distant waves. Sam popped out of his bag and began exploring the area. “This is an old rest-reef. They’re merm-made creations that used to be all over the ocean floor. But as time went on a lot of them got abandoned and died off and stuff.”
“Why aren’t there any fish?” Jackie asked. Sam bumped into the side of his head. “Ah, except for you, of course, Sam.”
“I dunno, I don’t know how they work,” Jack said. “Magic, probably. It’s just supposed to be, like, a peaceful place to relax.”
Jackie stared at him. He narrowed his eyes. “I told you, I’m fine.”
“Eh.” Jack waved his hand dismissively. “Like you said, you’ve been busy lately. You need a break. So just...even for, like, ten minutes. Just lie down and feel the current.”
Jackie sighed. “Alright, whatever.” He stretched his arms and tail out, deliberately taking up as much room as possible. It honestly wasn’t too bad here. There was a nice current flowing through the water. And the small crater must have been near a minor hot spring, because the ocean floor was warm. The seaweed waved gently in the current. Jackie watched the strands move, absentmindedly at first. Then he decided to close his eyes. Just for a little bit. Just for...a little...
Jack turned to look at Jackie, surprised to see him deeply asleep. He laughed softly. “I knew it,” he said, flicking his tail to gently nudge Jackie’s. “Go ahead and nap, big guy. I’ll wait.” He put his hands beneath his head and watched the sunlight create patterns on the waves.

for mermay, 9 indruck nsfw?
Here you go! #9 was folklore, Indrid’s design is based on a blue-ring Octopus, and I borrowed from one of the Discord convos we had about mer Indrid recently.
Content note: there is implied transphobia/misgendering in the reason Duck ends up in the water.
Duck goes to the depths still protesting, hands and ankles bound in rope and dark water closing over his head.
No amount of insisting he was the man he said he was or appealing to logic was enough; a woman aboard, even when he isn’t a woman, is bad luck and must be gotten rid off. So here he is, drowning for the sake of superstition, folklore and nonsense the reason his lungs scream in protest, denied air.
Whoever said drowning was like falling asleep was a damn liar; he’s in agony, reduced to his most basic state of a creature that wants to stay alive and cursed with the knowledge that he won’t. He shuts his eyes, as if that might make it more dreamlike, and circles past him, he feels fingers on his cheek and then, and then....
Then he’s waking up, chest rising and falling with ease. No more than a nightmare, then, he’s still on the ship-
No, wait, his blanket is floating where he kicked it away. He’s alive, he’s in some sort of bedroom, and he’s fucking confused.
Voices float in under the door, a lilting one reaching him first, “...most stubborn set of legs I ever encountered. A kiss is supposed to be enough, yet while his body can survive in our realm, it insists on remaining like itself.”
“Indrid, his majesty is going to be unhappy when he finds out.”
“I am aware, Vincent. And if my brother finds a drowning man, he may rescue him or not as he sees fit. He does not get to dictate my conscious.”
“I mean, I think you did the right thing” A woman’s voice now, “but he’s still pretty angry at you for the whole giving me legs incident.”
“You wanted to see your beloved, and I am almost as fond of Aubrey as I am of you. A charm that allows you to go between worlds is hardly cause for such a fuss.”
“It was the no-voice thing that bothered him.”
A sigh, “Time and again I have reminded him that strong magic comes with a price. In your case it was easily paid, because Aubrey recognized you instantly and kissed you. As if I would send my own niece into a situation where she might be trapped.” The last sentence is muttered, like the speaker knows no one will listen.
“I know that. That’s why you're my favorite uncle.”
“I am your only uncle” the smile is audible, “and I am just glad the two of you will be married soon. Now if you will excuse me, my foresight tells me my guest is awake.”
A door opens and shuts, and a moment later the curtain of kelp at the end of the room parts. Duck’s never believed in mermaids (or mermen), but that’s what swims to him now, human face and torso giving way to eight silvery tentacles dotted with deep blue rings. They’re almost as striking as his face, his features sharp and alien, crowned with silver-white hair.
“Hello” The mer smiles with sharp teeth, “How are you feeling?”
“Uh, not as confused as I could be on account of what I heard, but still tryin to work out why the fuck you saved me at all.”
“Three reasons: for starters, I dislike having corpses floating around the kingdom. I also do not see the point in having the power of foresight if I cannot use it to prevent suffering when possible. And finally I…” The calm smile on his face falters a moment, “I saw the moments that lead to your being thrown into the waves. You were condemned for being something you are not. I, ah, I could not let such an injustice come to pass.” His mask remakes itself, “and so here you are, Duck Newton.”
“And the kiss?” Duck raises his eyebrow.
“Ah, yes. If a mer kisses a dying human, that human will become a mer themselves. Except in your case, you have-”
“-Stubborn legs?”
A light laugh, “And here I thought I would be the one interrupting you. Yes, exactly. I have no idea why. I’m simply glad the magic worked well enough to help you breathe. There is a, ah, an issue however. My visions show that in your current state, you will not be able to survive on land.”
“But you said somethin about a charm to your, uh, niece?”
“That worked because it simply had to take her from mermaid to human; you’re stuck between forms in a way that, were I to apply the same approach to you it would end badly. As in accidentally turn you into a fish badly, at least in most timelines.”
“Huh” Duck worries the inside of his cheek with his tongue, “so I’m stuck here.”
“Indeed. I’m sorry.” Indrid sits on the foot of the bed, tentacles moving this way and that to fidget with the blankets, the bedposts, and the stray shells on the floor, “This has never happened before, and I did not mean to trap you in this way, I only meant to save you, to give you freedom.”
“That’s more than a lot of folks’ve tried to give me lately.” Tentatively, he touches the tentacle tip nearest him. It weaves between his fingers, the pressure from the suckers on the underside oddly pleasant. He rubs his thumb over a blue spot, which draws Indrid’s attention. His face goes pink and he pulls the tentacle back.
“Apologies, they have a mind of their own at times.”
“Don’t bother me. I, uh, I was just tryin to show you I ain’t mad. Feel a little adrift, but that’s a damn sight better then bein’ dead.”
“Adrift--OH, oh I see, you are going to say you do not know what to do now. The answer is heal; even though you are alive, your body and mind suffered before I saved you. You need rest and care, and I promise you shall want for neither. You are my honored guest, Duck Newton. My home is yours. I, ah, I would offer to let you leave the instant you are feeling able, but as you heard there are some issues with you being seen in this state.”
“Used to layin low.” Duck sighs, flopping back on the bed (or trying to, as he floats down onto the mattress instead).
“I gathered. If I had things my way, you would not need to do such things here. Alas, until my brother gets eaten by a shark, we may be dealing with this arrangement for some time” he gestures to the room, bathed in blues and greens as light filters down from the surface and in through the windows. Two tentacles gather the blanket, spreading it back up Duck’s body and smoothing it down.
“Rest now, Duck Newton. In the morning I will have much to show you.”
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Duck wakes up clawing at the water above the bed, heart beating fast enough he fears it might eject itself up his throat.
The nightmares a fewer these last two days, but whenever they want to be done for good is fine by him.
He gathers seaweed green robe Indrid gave him and makes his way out of the bedroom and down the hall. Indrid gave him a bracelet of cowrie shells that’s enchanted to let him walk without floating away. He’s a strong swimmer, but without a tail to aid him he tires quickly against the force of the water.
The merman’s house is huge, an attempt by the king to keep him happy without giving him any useful power. Most rooms are cluttered with etchings and drawings or items salvaged from wrecks or the shoreline. There are spare beds, but after the night where Duck awoke in a panic and could not calm down, where Indrid found him the next morning exhausted and shaking, the mer offered to sleep in the same room with him. Duck pointed out that it was technically Indrid’s bedroom anyway and he could sleep there if he wanted to. The mer dragged a variety of comfy pillows into the corner and declared he would be quite happy there. More than once Duck’s woken up first to see him sprawled out on the cushions, always clinging one against his chest. Duck wonders what would happen if he offered to take it’s place. He suspects he could do so without issue.
He’s no stranger to being admired, though the last time someone eyed him so approvingly he ran off to sea to avoid marrying them. Indrid’s red eyes contain the same desire but none of the entitlement. The merman’s been staring at him since that first day, though it’s only recently that he let’s Duck seem him doing so, after Duck caught his eye and stared right back.
Teasing Indrid is more fun than he expected, because while the mer usually gives as good as he gets, some days he blushes and wiggles his tentacle tips under Ducks attention. Indrid is obviously high status and, in Duck’s view, the most captivating mer in the kingdom; making him go pinker than a virgin at a striptease from a little flirting is gratifying.
His absolute favorite part of his new home, aside from Indrid, are the gardens at the center. Coral glistens and rainbows of fish flit across his path, sea flowers bloom and wave as he passes by. The best place to sit is in a massive clam shell with an excellent view of the grounds and the city beyond. It also happens to be Indrid’s preferred location to draw.
The mer takes one look at him and extends a tentacle, guiding Duck down to nestle close to him. When they’re with arms reach, one hand leaves his drawing to pet Duck’s thigh soothingly. He tilts his head, intending to study the sketch and ask about it, but ends up with his head on Indrid’s shoulder, slipping back into sleep.
“Oh dear.” Indrid murmurs, closing the book as a flurry of voices swim towards them.
“So, the rumors are true; you’ve brought a human into our domain.”
“Good morning to you as well, dear brother.”
The king crosses his arms, glaring at them, “if you cannot provide a decent reason for your having him here, I will make exile him myself. Right now.”
Indrid’s expression and voice remain calm, but one tentacle coils around Duck’s ankle and his hand clings to the loose trousers, “He, ah, he is, ah”
“I thought as much.” The king swims forward.
“Pet!” Indrid grins triumphantly, “he’s my pet. You keep saying you wish I would find a way to occupy my time and stay out of trouble, and here he is.” Indrid pulls Duck into his lap, patting his head with such exaggeration Duck has to stifle a laugh, “I have been so busy with him the last few weeks I’ve had little time for anything else. Isn’t that right, Vincent?”
Their friend nods, “Yes, your highness, the prince has found Du--, uh, the human most diverting.”
The king narrows his eyes, “Very well. The human may stay in that capacity.” With that, he swims from the gardens, trailed by his advisors.
“I gotta start wearing a leash now?” Duck teases, realizing too late that he’d do so in an instant as long as Indrid was holding the other end.
The blue of the rings deepens, “Not at all. Apologies for referring to you as my pet, but the timelines shifted so heavily in the direction of him casting you into the open sea that I panicked.”
“Aw, you lied to the kings face just for me. Must really like me.”
“I do! I, oh dear have I not made that clear?” Indrid gathers Duck’s hands between his own.
“You have, I was just teasin you. I don’t mind playin your spoiled pet to get one over on him, provided you keep spoilin me.”
Indrid’s grin returns, “I’m certain I can manage that.”
-----------------------------------------------------------------
“I hate it when he calls my bluffs.” Indrid glowers into the jeweled box just delivered to their doorstep. Right before Duck asks what’s wrong, the merman hands him a small piece of parchment.
Prince Indrid,
Included is a gift for your ‘pet,’ as you are apparently in need of it. It would be a shame for him to get lost, after all.
The note ends with the kings seal. Duck looks up as Indrid turns the box his way, revealing a collar studded with abalone shells and a leash woven from dark, sturdy seaweed. So many obscene images flood his mind it takes two tries before he can focus on Indrid’s words.
“...Thought I kept us clear of anyone who would bother to report us. I’m sure there’s a way around it, ruse aside you are my friend and equal and I will not ask you to humiliate yourself. Hmm, oh goodness, we will need to send word to Dani and Barclay that we cannot come to dinner to tonight, that’s not enough time to draw up a solution, though perhaps we can invite them here instead.” His tentacles trawl the ground as he paces the room.
“‘Drid?”
“Yes?” The mer stops, then his eyes widen, “you are serious?”
“Gotta let me offer first.” He replies with fond exasperation, “I fine with wearin it while we’re out. I know how you really feel about me and, uh, it, uh, makes me feel...safe?” It’s right on the border of a lie by omission, but he manages to get it out.
“I see” Indrid swims casually towards him, as if that will distract Duck from the pink creeping up his cheeks, “in that case, may I put this on you, pet?”
“Uh huh.” Duck tilts his chin up, shuts his eyes with a happy sigh as Indrid latches the collar in place. The mer stays chest to chest with him, testing to be certain the collar is comfortable.
“How is that?”
“Woof” Duck deadpans.
Indrid blinks, confused.
“It’s the noise a dog makes.”
Another blink.
“Y’know those things that are like sea lions but on four legs instead of flippers?”
“That’s what those are called. Fascinating.” Indrid loops the leash into place and Duck growls playfully. The mer pats his cheek, fingers lingering on his skin as he purrs, “good boy.”
-------------------------------------------------------
“Are you ready?” Indrid tips to vials of purple powder into a bowl, causing sweet smelling swirls of color to fill the room.
“Yeah. Been ready for years.” Duck stands opposite from him, drumming his fingers nervously on the rim of the bowl.
A week ago, Indrid asked in that blunt way of his if Duck wanted his human form to be different than it was. When he said yes, the mer immediately swam from the table and into the library to pull books from shelves.
“It will take a few days to prepare; I am careful in all my spells but, well...well I suppose when it is you I am inclined to take even more care than usual.”
It’s not the spell that’s making his nerves bubble up his chest; it’s the component of it he has to contribute. A secret, a precious one, because powerful magic will not give something for nothing.
“Whisper it into the foam.” Indrid gestures to the golden bubbles on the surface of the bowl.
Duck keeps it short and sweet. Then blinding light surrounds him, pure white spiked through with pink and blue, and he collapses to the ground, unable to do anything but hold himself as the spell courses through him. When the colors fade and the room returns to view, it’s all he can do to make his legs stand.
“How, ah, how do you feel?” Indrid taps his fingers together nervously, four of his tentacles following suite.
“Like I got trampled by a horse and came out a new man.”
“Oh. Good.” The fidgeting intensifies. Duck can only think of one reason for that.
“‘Drid? Did, uh, did the spell mean you learned the secret?”
“Yes.”
“Does it bother you? What I said, I mean.”
“No.”
A pulse of water, flourish of blue and silver, and Indrid’s lips find his. Arms and tentacles lift and hold him as they spin slowly across the room, the mer moaning when Duck drags his hands up his chest. He keeps kissing him as he speaks, mouth growing needier after every pause, “I, there were only a few timelines where you confessed your feelings for me and I, I wanted them so badly but I swore I would only act on your feelings if you used them in the spell, not simply because I saw futures where you might.” Tentacles slide under his shirt and up his pant-leg, “ohhhh, touching you in visions is nothing compared to feeling you for real.”
“Can feel me as much as you want, darlin. Got some things I wanna get my hands on too.” He tangles his fingers in Indrid’s hair, glides his mouth down to kiss his collarbone and tease a nipple with his tongue.
“Oh my sweet little human, the things I am going to do to yo-”
The doorbell times and Indrid nearly drops him.
“Damn it all, I forgot we were hosting game night.”
“Don’t worry ’Drid,” Duck pinches the base on one tentacle, “I ain’t goin anywhere, we can pick this up another time.”
----------------------------------------------------------
“I call that a success.” Indrid ushers Duck into the house. They’re returning from Aubrey and Dani’s engagement party (Indrid having provided Aubrey with a mer-charm of her own. As much as he loathes the idea, King Woodbridge has had to give the marriage his blessing; Dani is his only heir. If he disowns her, his throne passes to Indrid, a scenario he hates even more than a human/mer wedding.
Duck wore his collar all evening in case one of the king’s toadies got it into their heads to tell on him. It also matches the clothing Indrid bought him exceedingly well, and he’s not ashamed he admired himself while passing the mirror.
Indrid doffs his cloak as Duck closes the bedroom door, “You can remove that now my sweet.”
He leans against the carved driftwood, “And, uh, what if I don’t wanna?”
The mers hand pauses where it’s setting the leash on a table, “then I suggest you come here at once, pet.”
Not for the first time, Duck longs for a tail so he could speed through the water into Indrid’s arms. The mer is impatient as well, gives a wickedly charming grin as the lease whips out on it’s on to connect with the collar so he can yank Duck flush against him.
“Better, but you are still not as I need you.” Keeping the leash wrapped around one hand, the other starts on the buttons of Duck’s shirt. The human tries to help, only for tentacles to trap his wrists together, “thoughtful, pet, but I do so enjoy unwrapping you myself.”
“‘Drid, pleaseplease hurry.”
“Manners, pet” A tentacle thwacks his ass just as two others pull his pants to the ground.
“I said please” Duck laughs as Indrid nibbles his neck.
“Is that sufficient for someone who spoils you as much as I?” Indrid flutters his eyelashes.
Duck bumps their noses together, “Please, ‘Drid, want you to fuck me, you take such good care of me, wanna take care of you right back, I’ll make you feel so good darlin please.”
“Much better”
His remaining clothing falls away. Out of habit, he moves to cover himself, only for his arms and legs to be pulled outwards, leaving him spread-eagle in Indrid’s hold.
“Do not so much as think about hiding this perfect form from me, pet.” In the front folds between his tentacles, Indrid’s dick begins to emerge.
“Someone get off on admirin his handiwork?”
The smile softens, “I am admiring you, sweet one. You have the finest body I have ever laid eyes on; you did when we met, and you do now. I delight in holding it, touching it, these days I delight in seeing your comfort in your own skin.” A predatory glint returns to his eyes, “and of course, I like fucking you in it. In fact, that gives me an idea.”
Tentacles spin Duck in a half circle as Indrid swims to the mirror, meaning the human sees their reflections as the mer purrs in his ear, “I want you to see just how perfect you look on my cock, pet.”
“Jesusfuck, ‘Drid, yes” His own cock is hardening between his legs as small tendrils part and prod his ass; Indrid’s cock resembles a human one until it reaches it’s base, where the tendrils wait to push his partner further open or coax them to climax. They took some getting used to at first, cool and slick as the teased into Duck’s ass. Now he welcomes them, savors the tenderness with which they ready him.
Indrid coos and purrs in his ear, chirping whenever his cock grinds between Duck’s cheeks. The hand not holding the leash caresses his face while the tentacles see to everything else. And he means everything
“Fuck!” One coils around his dick as another rubs gently at his balls. The first time they tried this they were cautious, unsure how human anatomy would respond to the pressure and suckers. In Duck’s case, the answer was “cum so hard and fast it takes them both by surprise.” Indrid had taken one look at the cock with cum still beading at the head and swallowed it to the root, not relenting until Duck came a second time.
“Ohhhnnnyes” The head of Indrid’s cock presses into him, “oh I never tire of how you feel, pet. So warm and welcoming for you, ah” he whispers in Duck’s ear, “master”
“‘Drid you, you keep that up I’m gonna cum any second.”
“Not before I show you something important. Look” Indrid forces his head forward with the collar. His reflection writhes and bounces eagerly on a cock he can’t see but can definitely feel, lips parted in a prolonged moan as Indrid lays claim to every inch of him.
“My perfect, handsome pet, letting me play with him as I see fit.”
“Damn rightAHfuck, I’m close, if you twist like that again I’m gonna-”
“Cum” Indrid orders. Duck obeys, spilling into the water with a groan of thanks. The mer waists no time, traps him in place with his tentacles so can fuck him hard and fast, one hand tugging the collar and the other fisted in his hair, “oh yes, yes pet, just a little more, you can take a little more, you must, because you are my spoiled little treasure and I can cum in you whenever I please.”
“Fuuck” Duck turns his head for a messy kiss as the mer empties into him with a muffled trill.
One by one, the tentacles relax, Duck’s feet gradually meeting the floor as Indrid trails kisses down his spine.
“Goodness, whatever did I do to deserve you, Duck Newton?”
“Save my life?” Duck turns, gathering the mer into a hug.
“I did that because it was the right thing.”
“You’re right. Hmmmm” he peppers Indrid’s face with kisses, “must be because you’re so damn perfect.”
Indrid hums happily as Duck maneuvers them into bed, “I doubt that’s it, but I am too tired to argue.”
Duck lays down beside him, looping his leg over Indrid’s waist as tentacle twines around his ankle. Maybe one day it will cling to his fins instead, but he’s not all that worried about that now. However he ends up, as long as he’s with Indrid, he knows life will be perfect.

“I can’t believe I’m listening to your bullshit right now,” Bakugou grumbled into his phone over the sound of the waves crashing against the rocks, looking around the dock.
“Dude, Sero and I are telling you that there’s something really weird happening around there!” Kaminari urged on the other line, the panic evident in his voice. “I read that so many people patrolled in that area and they said that something fishy’s going on. Just check it out for me?”
Bakugou laughed. “Are you too fucking scared to check it out yourself?”
“No!” Kaminari blurted in annoyance. “It’s just… electricity and water aren’t a good combination.”
“Sounds like a fucking excuse to me but whatever. I’ll see what you’re whining about.” Bakugou hung up shortly after, shoving the device into his back pocket as he walked along the wooden panels. He scanned the area, not seeing anything out of the ordinary or anything to be frightful for. That idiot’s complaining for nothin’...
The only peculiar thing about this sector was that usually docks and ports would have various boats attached to it but this had nothing, just a wooden walkway staring right into the mouth of the ocean. Bakugou shrugged, assuming that his friends were blindly believing blatantly idiotic rumors. He wouldn’t be surprised if this was a prank they were trying to pull either as the pair would often mess around with him and attempt to send him off on wild goose chases.
With that thought in mind, Bakugou walked off into the opposite direction, making his way towards his car so he could get back to his agency until the sound of laughter stopped him in his tracks, one that sounded like bells ringing and echoing in the air. He spun around, eyes averting in all directions to try and locate the source of the melodic laughter. The area was abandoned and the sun beaming in the sky would reveal anyone roaming around easily. That was why Bakugou was even more baffled when the sound repeated, loud enough to be heard over the collision of the splashing waves.
Not thinking twice, Bakugou approached the source of the sound, believing that this was what Kaminari and Sero were so afraid of. He got to the end of the dock, his feet on the edge as he attempted to search for the mysterious voice once more.
“What the fuck am I even doing here?” Bakugou grumbled to himself, deciding to head back after failing to find the voice and once again annoyed with himself for even coming here in the first place.
“Whoa, I didn’t think people actually came on this side of the portside anymore,” a voice quipped just as Bakugou was walking away.
He turned around, taking a few steps back as he gasped to see a person in the water, smiling up at him. “The fuck you think you’re doing?! It’s too dangerous to be in the water!”
You were taken aback by his sudden concern, your lips curling upwards in amusement. “Now this is odd. It’s not everyday a human is worried about me.”
“What are you--” Bakugou stopped as he saw you dove underwater, causing Bakugou to toss his shoes and phone to the side. Even if he was off duty for his job, he was still a hero and he wouldn’t let anyone drown themselves, no matter how stupid they were for doing so.
Just as he was about to begrudgingly jump into the water, your head popped back up, even more amused than you were before. A human was willing to risk his life to save you. Bakugou sighed, irritated that he was even entertaining you or that you were pleased by this in the first place. “You think this is funny? Just get out of the fucking water, you’re wasting my time.”
You laughed, the sound ringing in Bakugou’s ears. “I’m sorry, maybe this will make more sense if I do this.”
Before Bakugou could question what you were doing this time, you swam over to the edge of the dock, hoisting yourself up over one of the many ginormous boulders lodged into the side. Bakugou nearly choked at the sight before him, feeling like his eyes were deceiving him.
But it was not a deception. There you were, sitting atop the boulder, with two shells covering your chest and the rest of your upper body adorned with miniature seashells. Your lower half was inhuman as a large tail, iridescent hues of blue and purple sheen covering it.
“As you can see I’m not human, so you don’t have to worry about me,” you said, grinning from ear-to-ear, completely beguiled by his flabbergasted expression. It was always funny whenever humans reacted this way to seeing you, although it had been years since you’d last seen a human. “I’m a mermaid.”
“Y-You’re a what now?!” Bakugou asked, absolutely bewildered. When Kaminari had informed him about odd occurrences happening in this dock in the past, Bakugou suspected anything but a mermaid to appear.
You maneuvered down the boulder using your arms, settling back in the water and swimming closer to the dock to get a better look at Bakugou. He took a step back, flustered by how intense your staring was. “W-What? Why’re you giving me that weird ass look?”
You chuckled, resting your head in your hands. “The last times humans showed up in this part, they came because they wanted to see the ‘legend’ of the mermaids that live here. And everytime I had to deal with those humans, I had to scare them off so that my people could live in peace. This is the first time someone has come here without any ill intentions.”
Bakugou took a small step forward, looking down to verify once more that your tail was real and not a figment of his imagination. You giggled, lifting your tail up slightly above the water. “It’s real. You weren’t imagining anything.”
Bakugou felt disconcerted by this whole situation, unable to comprehend what to do or how to go about this. He knew he had to return to work soon but he didn’t know how to just walk away from this knowing that you were a full fledged mermaid. You rose a brow at him. “You’re not going to go to your friends and have them come down here, are you? Because I’m really not looking to have a fight with anyone.”
Bakugou shook his head slowly. “It’s none of their business to come down here. I just came ‘cause my friend’s a fucking pussy and was nagging me to check out this area.”
You smiled, grateful and also a little surprised that a human had no desire to exploit you and your species’ existence. “I appreciate it. You know… you’re not that bad. I’ve always despised you humans for everything that you’ve done, but I think you’re pretty okay.”
Bakugou scoffed, looking off to the side. “Whatever.”
You laughed at his reaction, looking up at him and taking in his features. He looked nothing like any human you’d ever seen. His hair was spiky, not budging against the rhythm of the wind beating against it. His eyes were the brightest, most intense shade of scarlet red, making you feel intimidated just by one look. And yet he was handsome, too.
“You’re really pretty, you know that?” You said bluntly.
Bakugou’s eyes widened, his cheeks inflamed. “Shut up! Just mind your business and do whatever fish shit you do. I’m leaving.”
You watched as he stomped off, ten times more amused than you were before. He was interesting to say the least, and you were hoping that he would keep his word and not bring any unwanted attention to your existence. But somehow, you felt like you could trust this beautiful stranger.
***
Since that day, Bakugou felt himself physically and mentally drawn to the dock. He started out by stopping by occasionally, curious to see you once more. Your mere existence intrigued him, although he would never admit it. Slowly with time, his visits became more frequent and you began catching him in his act. So you joined him, talking to the only human you’d ever met that was curious about you solely because he wanted to get to know you.
And you wanted to know more about him, often finding yourself waiting by the boulders for his visits. And the more you two met, the more you learned about one another. It was your first time meeting a pro hero, understanding why Bakugou felt obligated to help you when first meeting you.
And Bakugou learned about you and your kingdom. You were a princess of an underwater kingdom called Coara, guarding your kingdom from prying and nosy humans, many of whom were scientists who would go as far as wanting to dissect you and your people if they had gotten their grubby hands on you. Bakugou frowned whenever he heard the anger in your voice when voicing your opinion on how aggravated and fed up you had been with such pestering people.
You were interesting to say the least. Most people’s first impressions of Bakugou were mostly negative, people often complaining about his abrasiveness or that he was too rude for their liking. But not to you. Even the way he spoke to you was intriguing for you, you finding yourself into him even more than you already were.
But the more you thought about him and were around him, the more you felt unsettled by your new friendship. All your life you had worked to gain this peace that had finally remained. You warned yourself that humans were bad news, vowing to reprimand anyone who so much as approached this area. And yet you wanted to be around Bakugou more and more, feeling disappointed if he didn’t show up on certain days due to his demanding occupation.
And just like any other day, you waited by the boulders, growing impatient as the sun had begun to set, casting an orange hue over the sea. “He’s late…” you muttered to yourself, returning back underwater for the remainder of the night.
Although Bakugou had informed you previously that his job had irregular working times, meaning it was never certain that he was free on certain days, you felt annoyed with him. In fact, for the past few days he hadn’t shown up at your usual spot. Since he never had any way of contacting you, as you were a mermaid and had no reason to be acquainted with human-made technological devices like cell phones, Bakugou was never able to tell you when he wouldn’t be able to see you. If he were being completely honest, he still couldn’t believe that he was regularly meeting with a mermaid in the first place.
So for his lack of visits, you decided to take matters into your own hands.
“I really don’t think this is a good idea, Y/N,” one of your closest friends urged, looking around the dock as it had been quite some time since she had even bothered to go above the surface from the safety of her underwater home.
You waved her off. “It’s fine, Alicia. As long as no one else finds out about this, which is why I trust that you won’t say a word about this to the others.”
Alicia scoffed. “Of course not, Your Highness.”
You gave her a look as she laughed at you teasingly. “You know you’re the only one allowed to not call me that because it weirds me out when you say it.”
She grinned, throwing her arm over your shoulder. “That’s because we’ve been stuck to the hip since day one! I’d do anything for you.”
You smiled softly, looking around the area once more to confirm that no one was watching or listening in. Then you reached over to the dock, pulling yourself up with the help of Alicia pushing the rear of your tail. Twisting your body around you sat back, flexing your tail above water.
“No turning back now!” You exclaimed, placing your hands on your tail and activating your quirk. As you were a mermaid, you still were born with quirks like humans. Similar to how some animals have intellectual type quirk that allow them to communicate with humans, you still had a quirk. Your quirk was Legs, giving you the ability to provide yourself and others with human legs at your command. You could also take them away at will and this quirk only benefited those who didn’t already have legs. It was an odd quirk but it was yours. It was often used in the past, back when the people of Coara were interested in human life, and you and your mother had the same quirk. It was tradition that the first daughter of the royal family inherited this quirk as a means to make amends with the humans. But since you had taken the throne, the selfish science oriented humans had no intention of keeping an alliance as they only wanted to probe and dissect you and your people for their own benefits. It had been years since the last scientist had caused trouble, leaving you and your kingdom with a short period of peace.
And you had every intention of keeping the peace.
Using your quirk, your fingertips created an amber glow, adorning your lustrous tail into two legs. You groaned, stretching your new limbs out in the air. “It’s been a while since I’ve had these. I need to stretch them out.”
Alicia chuckled, retrieving the mound of seaweed she had collected per your request. Her quirk gave her the ability to make cloth and clothing out of any form of vegetation and plants. She needed to utilize her quirk as you couldn’t just waltz around the city with only a shell bra covering your chest and nothing covering your lower body.
“It’s pretty hot out now so I made something more freeing for you to wear,” Alicia said, handing your clothes. You quickly changed into them, slipping on your underwear, top, and shorts. She even made a pair of simple sandals out of coral and branches. In no time, you were ready to head out into the city.
“You really like him, huh?” Alicia asked, staring up at you as you rose to your feet.
You rolled your eyes at her. “We’re friends. He’s the first person I’ve met since I was a child, roaming around the human world by my mother’s side, that has shown genuine compassion and interest in our people.”
Alicia sighed. She knew that this was more than a newfound friendship, however, you were too blinded to understand how you truly felt about Bakugou yourself. Even he didn’t know how he felt about you. “Just be careful. Please.”
You smiled, crouching down in front of her. “It’ll be alright. Trust me. I just want to see him for just a second and I’ll return as soon as possible!”
“Alright. Tell your boyfriend I said ‘hi’!” Alicia called out teasingly, earning a glare from you as you strode off towards the city.
***
It took about twenty minutes for you to find your way into the city as it had been quite some time since your last visit. Nevertheless you made your way through, stopping and asking bystanders for directions to Bakugou’s agency.
On the other hand, Bakugou obviously didn’t suspect a thing. He was patrolling around the sector as he usually did, keeping an eye out for peculiar events. Kirishima joined him that day, walking beside him as the two men strode through the city.
“It’s not everyday that we’re asked to patrol together,” Kirishima commented, waving to a fan who was quite excited for his favorite hero to be out and about in public.
“Makes my life easier so I can leave early,” Bakugou responded as the two turned the corner.
Kirishima glanced over at him. “Why, you got someone you’ve been dying to see?”
Bakugou was startled, regaining his composure to not give any hints. How did he know? “The fuck are you talking about? I’m not seeing anyone.”
“Come on, ever since Kaminari and Sero made you go to that weird place you always seem too busy to hang out with us.” Kirishima looked over at Bakugou as he seemed irritated. He didn’t want anyone to find out about your existence, understanding that you and your people’s lives would be put in danger. And he didn’t know what he would do with himself if he were responsible for anything that could happen to you.
Before Kirishima could prod any further into the matter, the two heroes stopped in their tracks, Bakugou personally getting ever more agitated than he already was at the sight of Monoma standing in their path.
“Monoma, I didn’t know you were in town,” Kirishima said.
Monoma smirked. “I’ve been around. More importantly, looks like Mr. Number One here is going to fall down in the rankings soon enough.”
Bakugou didn’t bother responding, ignoring him and walking right past him, causing Monoma to be taken aback. He turned around, staring Bakugou down. “You’re not even concerned with what I just said?”
Bakugou turned his head around, glaring at Monoma. “I don’t give a single flying fuck about whatever it is you’re running your trap for. I’ve got better things to do than hear you spew out some weird ass bullshit.”
Kirishima stifled his laughter, catching up to Bakugou with a few strides. Monoma’s agency had tried for years now to help Monoma reach his way up to the rankings, only able to reach the number two spot and falling short from Bakugou himself. Bakugou was simply the indisputable best, no matter how hard Monoma tried to dethrone him from the rankings.
And this absolutely infuriated him.
Monoma huffed, annoyed with the blonde who had gotten on his nerves since their days back in U.A. “I guess the rumors are true. You’ve changed these last few months. I wonder why that is…”
Bakugou stopped walking, now a few feet away from Monoma. He didn’t like the way he spoke, his words indicating that he was keeping something from him. For the final time he turned his head, staring daggers in Monoma's direction. “Keep worrying about falling from the rankings instead of being up my ass all the fucking time, dipshit.”
Bakugou kept moving, Kirishima keeping up with his pace as the pair made their way back to Bakugou’s agency. Kirishima chuckled. “Man, I’ve never really liked Monoma but he’s been pretty obsessed with you ever since you were named number one. It’s a little weird if you ask me.”
“I can barely remember that fucker’s name. I really don’t give a shit about what he does, so long as he’s not bothering me,” Bakugou mumbled as the two of them waited by the stoplight at the intersection in front of the agency. The light finally changed to green and Bakugou and Kirishima crossed the street, opening the giant glass doors to the building. Kirishima went over to the receptionists, filing any reports they had to complete.
“Ground Zero, there’s someone here who wanted to see you,” one of the receptionists said. “She’s waiting in the office.”
“Alright,” Bakugou said, mentally agitated as he didn’t want to deal with anyone right now. Nevertheless, he made his way down the hall and into his office, prepared to meet an annoying official working for the government or a crazed reporter that somehow was able to break into his agency. But he was pleasantly surprised to see a woman’s back facing him as he entered his office.
“What is this about?” Bakugou asked the woman curtly.
You turned around, causing Bakugou to nearly stop breathing. He didn’t know how, but you looked even more stunning standing in front of him than you did in your mermaid form. Your hair was slightly damp, the locks curling upwards. But your skin was practically gleaming against the light in the room, your smile sealing the deal that could cause Bakugou’s heart to palpitate irregularly in no time.
Just as he thought you couldn’t amaze him more, you did tenfold. “H-How the…”
You laughed, amused like you always were with the way he tended to be speechless by your mere presence. “Surprised to see me? I thought I’d pay a visit.”
Bakugou was absolutely bewildered, eyes widened and mouth agape with incredulity. “But you’re a fucking mermaid? Where’s your tail? How are you standing? What--”
“I have a quirk that lets me turn my tail into legs,” you stated blankly. “It’s nothing too special, my family has had a long line of inheritance with this quirk and I decided to use it since it’s been a while.”
“And why did you come? I was gonna stop by today,” Bakugou asked, waiting and wanting to hear you say what he wanted to hear.
You paused momentarily, your (E/C) eyes boring into his vermillion ones. You visually travelled down his figure, taking in his hero costume that you hadn’t seen previously. His biceps bulged out, his stature taller than what you had expected. He was even more handsome standing before than he was sitting beside you.
Bakugou felt himself blush under your obvious staring as you didn’t want to mask what you were doing or how you were feeling. You looked back into his eyes. “I missed you, Bakugou. I can’t explain why, but I missed you. And I couldn’t stand waiting idly by for you to come to me. So here I am.”
Before Bakugou could be even more flustered than he already was, the door to his office opened wide, a certain dark-haired man swinging his arm around Bakugou. “It’s been a while, man! Where have you been?” Sero exclaimed excitedly. Kirishima stood behind him at the door and the two men finally acknowledged you, shocked to see such a stunning woman in Bakugou’s office. Sero had stopped by as Kirishima had texted him, letting him know that he and Bakugou were back in the agency. But they were both pleasantly surprised by your presence.
Sero looked over at Bakugou, recognizing the light pink tinted on his cheeks as he smirked, putting two and two together. “Man, so this is what you’ve been doing recently!”
Bakugou glared at him, shaking Sero off him. As he knew two of his closest friends well enough to understand that they would pester you and bombard you with thousands of questions, he took matters into his own hands by grabbing your forearm and leading you out of the office.
Ignoring Kirishima and Sero’s shouts behind him as well as the stares he received from his receptionists, Bakugou led you out of the building and back to the streets. You looked down at where Bakugou was holding you, his hand still warm under his gloves. It was the first time a human had touched you.
Once he could confirm that his friends weren’t behind him following him, Bakugou let go of you, keeping his distance but still walking beside you. He looked off to the side, not wanting you to see his inflamed face. “I’ll walk you back to the dock. It’s not safe for you here.”
You smiled at him. “I appreciate your concern but you don’t have to worry about me. I’ve been amongst humans like this before.”
“Just… let me do this for you, alright?” Bakugou urged gently.
Regardless you nodded, smiling to yourself. Humans were more interesting than they had seemed before, or at least Bakugou was in a league of his own. You wanted to know everything about him, you wanted to constantly be around him, and he was all that was on your mind lately. You were slowly understanding that what you were feeling for him was crossing the line from friendship to something more and it frightened you. All your life you had known humans to be vile, selfish creatures who would do anything for their own gain. But here you were walking beside the most considerate man you’d ever met, exceeding the mermen of your kingdom in both looks and personality.
But as much as you liked him, you didn’t want to pry any further. He was still a human and you were a ruler of a kingdom. You had decided to end things here, savoring and basking in the moment as much as you could until you had to finally cut all ties with Bakugou. And you knew when that moment would arrive, you wouldn’t be able to recover for a while. You had spent almost every evening with him on that dock, your special place with him, talking for hours upon hours. You liked how flustered he would get whenever you complimented his looks or how proud he seemed when he spoke about his occupation and passion. You could hear him talk, even if he was just cursing someone out, all day long. But soon enough, you would never hear from him again.
You shook your head, wanting to rid your mind of such saddening thoughts, deciding to change the subject instead. “Is it okay to leave your friends like that?”
“They’ll live. Your secret is more important right now,” Bakugou said, not realizing how touched you had been by his words. He truly had every intention of keeping your identity a secret and the more you were around him, the more you were falling for him. This was slowly becoming a dangerous situation, but you didn’t care, not in the moment at least.
You looked down at your feet as the two of you made your way back to the dock, the amount of people around you decreasing as you got closer. And the closer you got, the more despondent you became as you realized this was the last moment you would have with him.
“What’s wrong?” Bakugou asked, snapping you away from your thoughts.
You looked up at him abruptly, his scarlet eyes penetrating right through your soul and being. You smiled reassuringly. “It’s nothing, don’t worry about it.” Bakugou looked over at you, deciding to drop the subject once the two of you finally reached the dock.
As you grew closer, a blonde man who you didn’t recognize stood on the dock, looking around the area. He was particularly looking down into the water, directly above your kingdom. You felt your heart stop as you began to become frantic that your home was found.
Bakugou extended his arm in front of you, ceasing your footsteps as you moved to confront the man. “Don’t go. You’ll get in danger. I’ll deal with him.” You looked at Bakugou, who had an expression you had never seen. He was calm and yet his nostrils were flared. You knew he was livid.
Bakugou trudged towards the man, infuriated to see Monoma poking his nose where he didn’t belong. “The fuck do you think you’re doing here?”
Monoma smirked, looking beyond Bakugou’s shoulder to see you, staring you up and down and intently at your legs. You felt disgusted by his gaze, wanting to jump back into the water as soon as possible.
Monoma flicked his gaze back to Bakugou. “The rumors are that you’ve got a girlfriend which is why you’ve been slacking off recently. So I followed you over here a few days ago to see that you’ve got a mermaid by your side now. Even more interesting…” His voice trailed off and he smirked at you as you grimaced under his stare. “She looks exactly like a human.”
He let out a bellowing laugh, exasperating Bakugou even more than he already did with his presence alone. “It’d be a shame if more people found out about this…”
Bakugou didn’t hesitate or think twice to grab Monoma by the collar, his fingers curling against the fabric as uncontrollable sparks emerged from both hands. “If you even think about opening your trap up about this I’ll rip you apart limb from fucking limb.”
Although Monoma wouldn’t admit it, he was slightly intimidated by Bakugou’s threat, but even more so he found this whole situation to have been a stroke of luck. He knew exactly what he had to do. Monoma brought his hand up, grabbing Bakugou’s forearm that was clutching his collar. “Tell you what, I’ll let this whole thing go. If I’m being honest,” his eyes whipped over to you, causing a shiver to go down your spine, “I really don’t give a damn about you and your fish people. That’s the last thing I care about. I’ll let this all go… on one condition.”
“Spit it out, you bitch, you’re testing my patience,” Bakugou snarled through gritted teeth.
Monoma chuckled humorlessly, smirking at you once more. You felt disgusted and defeated all at once. You had promised your people that this was a time for peace, that you wouldn’t let the humans that you hated so much ruin anything for you and your kingdom. And here was a human threatening the life of Coara like the lives of the mermaids and mermen meant nothing and were replaceable.
You wanted to despise humans as much as you had before, but you couldn’t. Not when Bakugou was a human as well.
“I’ll let this go… if you give up your ranking.” Monoma laughed once more, feeling Bakugou’s grip loosen from the shock.
Bakugou had worked day and night, protecting civilians left and right and defeating any villain that came his way to be number one. Even you understood this as Bakugou had explained hero rankings and how hard he worked. You could see he was a respectable man who would do anything to show others his worth. And here was a spineless bastard trying to rip it all away from Bakugou.
Monoma shook Bakugou’s hand from him, smirking cruelly at him. “You see, I know you won’t give up your ranking for some rotten fish. Either way, I’m going to enjoy watching your little girlfriend’s life crumble before your very eyes--”
Before Monoma could yap and run his mouth more than he already had, Bakugou sent a right hook flying, contacting Monoma’s jaw and pummeling him to the floor of the wooden dock. You gasped, not suspecting him to do that, and took a few steps towards him. He turned his head at you, raising his hand to stop you from getting closer. He didn’t know what Monoma would do to you just to spite him. You felt hopeless, wanting to help Bakugou and your people were still in the back of your mind. What was the right thing to do in this situation? What could you do?
Monoma spit the blood out from his mouth, wiping his bloodied lip and rose to his feet. He cackled once more. “I knew you were too much of a coward to do--”
“I’ll do it,” Bakugou said in one breath, causing you and Monoma to be appalled.
“Bakugou! Don’t do it!” You called out in concern. You would do anything for your people but not at the expense of years of hard work Bakugou had put in.
Bakugou ignored you momentarily. “I’ll give it up, my ranking. But if you take back your work I’ll fucking--”
Monoma rose a hand up in the air to cease his threats. “Don’t worry about that, I don’t give a damn about you or your girlfriend.” He extended his hand out at Bakugou, grinning in absolute delight. “We have a deal?”
Bakugou stared at his pale hand, his own fists clenching at his sides. Even so, he didn’t hesitate to shake hands with his nemesis, gripping his hand as tightly as he could. Monoma winced, wriggling his hand from Bakugou’s hold and rubbing it once he got free. Monoma laughed once more, walking past Bakugou and towards you. You stepped to the side, wanting to avoid him at all costs. He looked down at you, smirking. “For some rotten fish, you’re pretty hot.”
You wanted to puke from anger and disgust, staring daggers into his back as he walked away with delight and glee. Monoma waved his hand back. “I’ll send the paperwork to your office tonight, Ground Zero.”
Once he was a considerable distance from you, you ran towards Bakugou, joining him on the dock. “Why did you do that? Why would you give your ranking up?”
Bakugou sighed, looking down at the water and the boulders that you always sat upon during your frequent meetings. He slipped his gloves, boots, and socks off, sitting on the edge of the dock and dipping his feet into the water. You watched as he did so, not understanding his silence. Nonetheless, you joined him, slipping off the sandals Alicia made you and sitting right beside him. This was the closest the two of you had ever physically been.
“It didn’t feel right,” Bakugou said, avoiding your eye contact. “It’s my fucking fault that dipshit found out. I couldn’t just walk away knowing that I was putting you in danger.”
You smiled softly, shaking your head. “I’ve dealt with idiots like him before. I would’ve been fine. But you worked so hard to get where you are now.”
Bakugou turned to face you, his eyes just as intense as they always were. “You don’t get it. I wouldn’t be able to live with myself if something happened to you. A ranking is a fucking ranking. I know I’m the best, that fucknut weaseled his way into becoming the new number one now. But your life means more to me than that.”
You were astonished, blown away by his selflessness. But Bakugou didn’t recognize his actions as being selfless as he continued blaming himself for putting your life in danger. And you recognized this by his hurt expression as he was physically grimacing. You smiled, lifting your hand up and cupping his cheek. Your palms were cold against Bakugou’s cheek, sending tingles down his spine, but your fingertips held the softest touch. “You’re amazing, Bakugou. This isn’t your fault. I don’t blame you, not even a little bit. I chose to see you everyday, I could’ve just stayed in my palace if I didn’t want to see you. But I came here because I like being around you.”
Bakugou stared at you, basking in your beauty. He had never met anyone like you as you were truly a one of kind being. You were tenderhearted, a leader, ambitious, and driven for others. Bakugou knew by now that he had no control over his feelings for you, not giving a damn about the consequences. He wanted to hold you, protect you against anyone who would even think of harming you.
“Do you regret being with me? Do you regret meeting with a human that could harm your people?” Bakugou questioned.
You shook your head, not hesitating to answer immediately. “There isn’t a fiber in me that feels that way. Being with you has given me faith in humanity.” You took back your thoughts earlier, knowing full well you couldn’t abandon him now, not when he protected you.
Bakugou nodded. “Alright. Then don’t mind when I do this.”
Before you could let the words ‘do what?’ escape from your lips, Bakugou closed the gap between the two of you, gently locking your lips with his own. It was a pleasant surprise, making you realize that humans were softer than they seemed. He smelled of burnt sugar, locking in how sweet he truly was. He was gentle despite how caustic he seemed to others. But you knew him, you had spent months with him, and you had no intention of letting him go now.
You pulled away, your chest rising and falling slowly. He was beautiful, more beautiful than you could ever describe into words. You were willing to go off the deep end for him, the stunning human who risked his career for your life. And you had no intention of leaving him.

So, I did the thing
So, i told @wanderlustlily that I would create a little story based on her MerMay comics. Well, this is the result. Sorry if it’s a bit disjointed in some places, but I hope it’s at least enjoyable for what it is. Thanks for reading!

*********************************************************
He laid there for a moment, frozen by the beauty exposed before him. Never in his life had he ever seen such a specimen as what had just dragged him from the water. As he lay there on the sand, basked in her red, scaly glory, Adrien was struck speechless. When her hand reached out and touched his cheek, an electric shock caused him to inhale her salty sea scent. A few drops of seawater dripped onto his face but he couldn’t care less, so enthralled by her was. As they both seemed to gather themselves, Adrien thought back about what brought him here today and how they ended up in this situation.
He knew his family owned a strip of land on the beach, several miles from the main fishing shops his family normally ran. Well, “family” really meant his father and brother. Gabriel Agreste took over the family fishing business when his long-passed grandfather had died. He used to run the business with his mother, but since she passed too, it was mainly his father, brother and he. Sometimes people would come into the main shop, hand his father a letter, and he would suddenly have to leave to go to the vacation house. Adrien never knew why he’d have to rush off so quickly. Now, it seems, he had his answer.
Back then, he had to figure out why his father kept vanishing. So, he made up some excuse about going to visit his friend, Nino, but really went to the vacation house. He remembered climbing up to the cliffside behind the house. He must have gotten too close to the edge and the cliff gave. He remembered falling into the water thinking that he was going to die, no one would know where to look for him. Then, he hit the water and caught sight of red in the darkness of the water. Scales surround blue eyes. The same eyes and scales she had.
Her body shimmering in the setting sun’s rays jerked him back to the present. Her blue, reptile-like eyes stared at him, thumb pressing gently against his cheek. Again he was struck by her beauty. Beautiful black-blue hair clung to her head and flowed down her shoulders like a river. Naked from the waist up, her chest on full display, he can’t say he wasn’t pleased by her proportions. Red scales patched her skin around her cheekbones and shoulders as well as gills on her cheeks and ribs. There was also her tail and ears. Well, “ears” is a loose term. More like fins.
With her lower half being fish-like, including a webbed tail, she looked like all the fairy tales of a mermaid his mother used to tell him.
“You’re beautiful,” he heard himself whisper, unbidden. The mermaid’s face turned from shocked and surprised to thoughtful.
“Hmm,” she said, voice in a sing-songy tone. “If you really thought that…”
Her thumb brushed along his cheek again and he reveled in the feeling, until a sharp pain burned from the side of his face.
“Then you would stop hunting us,” she continued. Her face turned sad as her fins slowly drooped. “You’re an Agreste. I should kill you.”
Shocked at hearing his family name come from her mouth, his eyes widened. She knew the Agreste name? How did she know? Adrien tried to ask, but her musical voice started speaking again so he chose to listen.
“But, I prefer saving life.” Her face morphed from sad to angry, her fins shoot up with her agitation. “Unlike you!”
“I-I’m” he tried saying, but she cut him off.
“Save it! Don’t let me catch you here again, because I won’t be around to save you a second time. You’re lucky you’re cute.”
Stunned again, he tried to find something to save before she used her powerful tail and flipped back into the water. He sat up, trying to see which way she went, before her red scales vanished in the depths of the water.

Day 1 Anchor Pt 2
for the MerMay whump challenge, hosted by @amonthofwhump continuation of part 1 Fandom: Percy Jackson and the Olympians/Heroes of Olympus TW: Impalement
Annabeth nervously paced on the deck of the Argo 2. It had been two hours since Percy went down into the lake, and so far no one had heard anything. Piper was watching Katoptris, Leo was doing repairs on the ship, and Hazel, Frank and Jason were helping him. Annabeth knew that, yes, rationally speaking, this wasn’t the most dangerous thing Percy had ever done. But the feeling of unease that first started when Piper told them about her vision had just grown when Percy disappeared in the water, which also was decidedly not behaving like lake water, and excuse Annabeth for worrying about her boyfriend who seemed to attract trouble wherever he went.
She paused in her pacing for a moment, chewing on her lip anxiously. Annabeth glanced towards the water once, before storming towards the mast where Leo was perched hammering something.
The sudden boom that ripped through the air shook the ship and Annabeth nearly fell over. Leo yelped from above her and she heard startled cries from the other demigods. Annabeth whirled around, almost tripping over herself as she ran back to the railing.
The water, a once shining green, relatively undisturbed, had turned into a swirling mess. The water sloshed angrily against the cliffs, tearing chunks out of the stone and turning the water cloudy and dark. A trail of deep black blossomed out from the far side of the lake, trailing farther and farther out into the middle of the lake.
Another boom made Annabeth jump and cling to the railing of the ship.
“What the Hades is happening?” Leo’s indignant yelling drew next to the daughter of Athena, just as the other demigods appeared on deck.
“What’s going on?” Jason had his sword out, ready to fight. “Are we under attack?”
Annabeth shook her head, unable to tear her eyes away from the black stain spreading across the water. Piper gasped as she saw the lake.
“Oh my gods, is-? What’s -?”
“Percy’s in trouble,” Annabeth gasped out, feeling lightheaded. “Percy’s in trouble, we have to go get him,” she started moving towards the ladder that still hung from the side of the ship when a hand grabbed her around the wrist. She looked back to see Jason, a worried look on his face.
“Annabeth, you can’t go underwater. Frank and I will go,” the blonde looked back at Frank, who nodded. The two boys raced over toward the ledge of the ship. They leapt off, Frank gliding down as some kind of bird while Jason did his Superman thing. Annabeth watched as they hit the surface of the now black water.
Please be okay, Seaweed Brain.
-----------------------
Percy groaned. Oh gods, everything hurt. He cracked his eyes open to see complete blackness. He squinted, trying to make out anything that could explain why everything hurt so damn much. His eyes slowly adjusted and he was able to see jagged bits of rusted metal and rotten wood surrounding him. He groaned again as he remembered how he got in this position. The shipwreck. The screaming.
The ship must have folded around him when it hit the bottom for him to have survived. Percy glared around himself, trying to make out more of his surroundings. He moved to sit up when a searing pain in his leg made him cry out and sink back. The ship’s anchor had somehow gotten tangled up in the wreckage of the bow. It was laying over him, and by some miracle had not fallen flat and crushed him. However, one of the flukes was stabbed straight through his thigh. As soon as he noticed the pain, Percy was overwhelmed with the smell and taste of iron in the water and he gagged.
Eyes squeezed shut, Percy slowly sat up, grimacing as every movement pulled at the torn flesh. He still couldn’t see very well through the murky water. The demigod reached into his pocket and was overwhelmed with relief when his fingers curled around Riptide. He uncapped it and the sword sent a faint glow over his surroundings. The anchor was fairly small, and thank the gods for that, or else it might have sheared his leg off entirely. The metal was completely rusted apart, but despite Percy’s best efforts, it wouldn’t shift. He choked back a sob.
The others must have heard the ship cracking, right? Percy shuddered and looked up towards the surface. He cried out as the movement jostled his leg. Whimpering slightly, Percy clung to the anchor. He could still taste his blood in the water. Maybe it was the cold, but Percy felt sluggish. He shuddered, eyes trying to focus on the wreckage as black spots crept into his vision. His head bobbed in the current and he thought he heard a voice laughing. Percy vaguely noted that it looked like he had been wrong about there being no fish, since there was something yellow and purple coming towards him. He took a moment to wonder whether he should be worried about that, but gods he was… really tired. If the fish wanted to eat him it would just have to wake him up later.
-----------------------
Jason waved his sword through the water in a wide arc, trying to orient himself in the murk. Frank had transformed into a giant goldfish when they entered the water, which at the time did not seem particularly useful, but Jason realized now was pretty smart, considering his scales had a pale glow to them. Frank swam through the water a little ways away from Jason, avoiding the miniature tornado the son of Jupiter had formed around himself.
The two had landed about where the black streak started out from and they had found a torn up lakebed with a good amount of debris from what looked to be a sailing ship. The only problem was, there was no ship. Jason felt the unease rising in him as the two followed the trail of destruction along the bottom of the lake. Whatever had made it was big, and Jason did not want to think about what that could mean.
Frank suddenly came to a stop in front of him. The goldfish made an odd burbling noise before heading straight down. Jason swallowed and followed him. He gasped when the wreckage of a ship emerged from the darkness. It was crushed to pieces, spread across a large expanse of the lakebed.
Well, guess we know what made that boom.
The pair approached the ship. Frank morphed into a shark to fit better, leaving Jason to hold his sword out in front of him as a rudimentary light.
“Come on Jackson, you better be down here…” the blonde muttered under his breath. As they swam closer towards the front of the ship, Jason noticed a faint glow. He motioned to Frank, who nodded as best he could. Jason pulled his sword back and crept out from behind a splintered segment of wall.
Percy was clinging to an anchor like his life depended on it, Riptide unsheathed and lying next to him in the wreckage. Jason sighed with relief and moved towards the other demigod. Percy lifted his head and Jason noticed the glazed over look in his eyes a moment before the son of the sea god shivered and his eyes rolled back in his head.
Jason dove forward, registering the anchor embedded in Percy’s leg and the red tint to the water around them as Frank came into view. Jason nodded towards the anchor and together, he and Frank managed to drag it out of and off of Percy.
The blonde grabbed Percy under the shoulders. As the air pocket moved around him, the teen groaned. Jason and Frank powered through the water, breaking through the surface of the lake two hundred meters or so from where the Argo 2 was hovering. Frank morphed back into a bird while Jason adjusted his grip on Percy, flying up towards the ship.
The others had gathered on the deck and the moment they landed Annabeth pulled Percy away from the blonde.
“What happened?” Hazel watched, eyes wide, as Annabeth started cleaning the wound with nectar while Piper ran below deck to get bandages.
“There was a shipwreck down there, and he got pinned under the anchor somehow,” Jason explained.
“He’s lost some blood, but you’ll be fine, Seaweed Brain,” Annabeth muttered, almost to herself, as she finished cleaning the wound. Piper reappeared and thrust a roll of bandages at Annabeth, who promptly wrapped them around the hole in Percy’s leg. The son of Poseidon stirred, groaning slightly as his eyes blinked open. They found their way over to Annabeth and he grinned at her.
“Told you… it’d be fine.”
She choked back a sob, half relief and half exasperation and threw her arms around his neck. She released him after a moment and he blearily looked around at the demigods standing around him, before finally settling on Piper.
“Piper… I think your dagger is trying to kill us…” he slurred as the others laughed around him.

Introducing my WIPs!
Because why actually work on them when I can talk about them instead?
4p, short for 4 petal [original work]
Title: Undecided
Genre: Fantasy
What does it include?: 4p is more the world that 2 wips take place in, but instead of calling them two separate things I just bunch em together because they’re from the same universe!
Characters:
WIP #2: MC (I’m thinking possibly Jan Mowsley, who’s a character I made in a different story), Nhao Miyagawa and Tulsi (no last name yet)
Summary:
WIP #1 in 4p is a story I had started back in 4th grade because we had to write every day in class (I miss that ;-;). In the past it used to be called “La fleur élémentaire” [trans: the elemental flower] and the basis was that there was a tournament for a flower that had four petals, hence the name I call it now. Groups of descendants of the original elementals would compete and if they won, would each receive one petal on the flower which would give them powers an element. Since then I’ve changed it a bit, I’m still playing around with how it works and I don’t have any distinct characters like I used to. Ps: they’re all elves :)
WIP #2 in 4p concentrates on the other parts of the world and I originally started this in 6th grade when my teacher brought back the whole writing every day thing. It’s set on Earth originally, and follows a human who has an enchanted necklace that speaks to her (in reality it’s a fairy who’s been trapped but that’s for later on lol). The story picks up when she takes a very strange entrance exam to a school where it’s required she swims out into the sea and back (air pump is given dw guys). However when she swims out she sees runes underwater, there’s a shark attack and her bestie nhao is suddenly a mermaid blah blah blah and she discovers another world when they get back to land. This also ties in with some history of the 4p world, because throughout the story the mc finds out Earth was originally created to remove humans from their world anddd I won’t go in depth but I’ve developed this quite a bit more! Along with some more wordbuilding and characters.
Faults (sometimes also call it superbois lol) [original work]
Title: atm I’m thinking Faults?
Genre: Fantasy (“again?” Yes, all of these are fantasy and that’s all that you should expect from me lol)
Characters: Taylan Aksoy, Linh Vinh (first name is Vinh), Elan Jacy Major and Fausto Jacobs
Summary: It was originally going to be a short story for a short story contest (keep in mind I came up with this like three days ago) but as I kept planning it out I just could not fathom it being only a short story of 1k-3k words andddd so now it’s one of my WIPs! This is the one I have the most fleshed characters atm but the story is kinda in an iffy place. Not 100% sure where I’ll go with it but I do have most of the beginning planned. I’d like the story to switch POVs between the characters and I have an idea how I’ll do that. The plot atm is a few kids discover that they receive powers about their biggest flaw. For example, a character is forgetful so in turn he can make people forget things. To strengthen their power they need to improve their own faults, the idea is it forces them to be a better version of themselves, which ideally is what you want in a superhero! I am absolutely in love with the characters I have for this one and can’t stop coming up with random scenes lol.
SGE mermaid au [fanfiction]
Title: None yet :/
Genre: Fantasy :D
Characters: Agatha, Sophie, Tedros, Anadil, Hort and the rest of the gang
Summary: The School for Good and Evil but set in the early 1700s during the golden age of piracy 🏴☠️ All, or most, Evers are mermaids and the Nevers are human. Plot goes Agatha finds out she might have a sister, meanwhile Sophie ventures out at sea because she feels like it’s calling her. They meet but then things go wrong and suddenly a bunch of people turned into mermaids and w owee Jaric is a thing¿ but also not and to be a thing Japeth decides he has to kill everyone so it’s just them. Though eventually Callis comes back and things are back to normal :) .. sort of. Also includes some tagatha, witchy Agatha (literally) and anatrix friendship. I first started this during mermay as a fun little au thing, my excuse for mermaids being it was mermay but now I’m really invested in it! Might stsrt writing this one in the following months because the outline is actually starting to seem coherent.
That was a lot of word vomit but thought it’d be nice to introduce what I’m working on. Might make an update of this in the future and see how much it’s changed lol
